When I was a young man of 19, my best friend and father Harvey Leader, noticed my natural charisma and sales ability while working in the family business. Encouraged by him, I enrolled in college and completed my real estate training. To say that I love real estate and enjoy helping others is an understatement. As a family man with a wife and two sons, I understand the true significance of purchasing not just a house, but a home.
At 21 I purchased my first brokerage, a local Century 21 office. Over the next 10 years, I was recognized as being one of the Top 10 most successfel salesperson in Canada and inducted into the Century 21 Canada Hall of Fame and the Century 21 Worldwide Hall of Fame, averaging more than 100 home sales a year and listing over a thousand properties. I quickly built up my award winning brokerage to include 50 of the most successful salespeople in the Midland area, dominating with over 30% of the market share.
In 1998, I sold my business and was approached to share with others how I had achieved success at such a young age, when 70% of people that enter real estate fail within 3-5 years. In 1999, I left the company to start my own Real Estate Training Business. The program, called Leader’s Choice, is considered by many to be the North America's #1 training program developed in the last 20 years, with over 40,000 graduates. The Leaders Choice program focuses on training realtors to be not only successful in sales, but also as business professionals delivering supior customer service with the goal of having a repeat and referal based business.
I’ve written and co-authored several books, including Distinguishing Marks of a Leader (foreword by Bob Proctor), Blueprint for Success (with Stephen R. Covey, The 7 Habits of Highly Successful People) as well as Concrete Jungle (with Bob Proctor), Success is a State of Mind (with Deepak Chopra)
As my career has gone forward, my shift has focused from travel to spending more time with family. I’m returning to my roots in sales and am proud to have my family work beside me every day. I am delighted to have the opportunity, experience, and ability to make a difference in the lives of families in Southern Ontario.
